Today - Thursday 27th November 2008 - Bon-Accord was successfully steamed AND HAS PASSED ITS FINAL STEAM TEST INSPECTION This marks the official completion of the restoration of this 1897 Andrew Barclay locomotive, formally used at the Gas Works in Aberdeen. An amazing achievement by all the volunteers and members of the Bon-Accord Locomotive Society over many years, and made possible by grants from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, and personal and corporate sponsors. The fight to preserve Bon-Accord began back in 1964!
