The year 2008 has been an excellent one for Bon Accord’s rebuild and October sees us accelerating towards completion, hopefully by the end of the year.
Again we offer our heartfelt thanks to those individuals and local Businesses who have assisted in making this possible.

Work accomplished March to October  2008
1)  Final mounting of cab and water tank.
2)  Acquisition and fitting of vacuum braking system - now complete.
3)  Chimney and whistle installation.
4)  Piping installation, examples being :-

(i)  Water tank balance pipe and drains
(ii)  Water feed pump discharge and spillback.
(iii) Water supply to injector.
(iv) Steam supply to injector.
(v)  Steam blower piping.
(vi) All piping associated with vacuum brake system.
(vii)Instrument tubing to pressure and vacuum gauges.

5)  Leak testing of vacuum pipe system @ 21” Hg.

Work Currently in Progress.
1)  Cab doors.
2)  Painting of entire locomotive.
3)  Preparation for attachment of side shield skirts.

Activities.
1)  Thorough Boiler Insurance Inspection followed by Steam Test.
2) Fitting of cab windows and name / works plates.
